Responsibilities
- Manage and preserve all official city records, ordinances, and resolutions with digital archival systems
- Administer municipal elections, including voter registration, candidate filings, and polling place logistics
- Oversee city council meeting documentation, agenda preparation, and minute certification
- Implement public records request protocols ensuring compliance with California Public Records Act
- Develop and maintain city charter, municipal code, and administrative policy databases
- Lead public engagement initiatives for municipal transparency and accessibility
- Coordinate with legal department on legislative compliance and record retention policies
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Political Science, or related field
- 5+ years local government experience with records management or election administration
- California Election Official Certification (or ability to obtain within 6 months)
- Expertise in municipal records management systems (e.g., Laserfiche, OnBase)
- Deep knowledge of California Government Code, Brown Act, and Public Records Act
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and database management
- Proven experience leading public-facing transparency initiatives
- Valid California driver's license
