Responsibilities
- Safeguard and maintain all official city records, ordinances, resolutions, and legislative documents
- Administer fair, secure, and accessible municipal elections and voter registration processes
- Provide legislative support to the Board of Supervisors, including agenda preparation and minute documentation
- Oversee public records requests and ensure compliance with California Public Records Act
- Manage city clerk operations, budget, and staff development initiatives
- Act as official custodian of the city seal and authenticate municipal documents
- Develop community engagement programs promoting civic participation and transparency
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Political Science, or related field
- 5+ years of municipal government experience with records management expertise
- California Election Official Certification (or ability to obtain within 6 months)
- Proficiency in records management systems and municipal software (e.g., CivicClerk, DocuWare)
- Deep knowledge of California Government Code, Brown Act, and election laws
- Exceptional written/verbal communication and public presentation skills
- Proven leadership experience managing complex operational teams
- Certified Municipal Clerk (CMC) designation preferred
