Responsibilities
- Maintain and secure official city records, ordinances, and meeting minutes
- Manage voter registration and election coordination processes
- Oversee issuance of permits, licenses, and municipal certificates
- Facilitate public records requests while ensuring compliance with FOIA regulations
- Administer oaths of office and notary public services
- Coordinate with city departments on legislative documentation
- Lead digital record modernization initiatives
- Serve as clerk for City Council meetings and public hearings
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business, or related field
- Minimum 5 years municipal government or record management experience
- Proficiency in municipal record-keeping systems (e.g., Muni-Link, DocuWare)
- Deep knowledge of Michigan election law and FOIA regulations
- Notary public certification required
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Proven ability to manage sensitive information with discretion
- Experience leading digital transformation projects
