Responsibilities
- Oversee maintenance and certification of official municipal records, ordinances, and resolutions
- Manage voter registration, election administration, and public records requests
- Develop and implement digital transformation strategies for public records management
- Lead community outreach programs enhancing civic education and accessibility
- Supervise City Clerk department staff and ensure compliance with legal requirements
- Coordinate with other city departments on intergovernmental projects and initiatives
- Prepare official reports and presentations for City Council and public hearings
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business, or related field
- Minimum 5 years experience in municipal governance or records management
- Proficiency in document management systems (e.g., Laserfiche, SharePoint)
- Illinois Notary Public certification or ability to obtain within 6 months
- Deep understanding of election laws and FOIA compliance requirements
- Exceptional written communication and public presentation skills
- Experience managing municipal budgets and procurement processes
- Knowledge of Chicago city charter and administrative procedures
