Responsibilities
- Prepare, distribute, and maintain accurate minutes for all City Council and Board meetings, ensuring compliance with Robert's Rules of Order.
- Manage official city records, including deeds, resolutions, and ordinances, ensuring proper archiving and retrieval.
- Act as the primary point of contact for the public, responding to inquiries regarding city codes, ordinances, and administrative procedures.
- Process and verify applications, licenses, and permits submitted to the City Clerk's office.
- Coordinate logistics for public hearings, including scheduling, notice posting, and room setup.
- Oversee the maintenance of the City Charter and related legal documents.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent; Associate’s degree in Public Administration or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a clerical, administrative, or government setting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and database management systems.
- Strong attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Knowledge of California state and local government procedures is highly desirable.
