Responsibilities
- Manage official city records, ordinances, and public documents with meticulous attention to detail
- Oversee municipal election processes, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations
- Serve as the primary public information officer for city council proceedings
- Coordinate with legal department on legislative documentation and compliance
- Develop and implement record-keeping systems for digital and physical archives
- Facilitate public records requests while maintaining confidentiality requirements
- Lead staff training on municipal procedures and record management protocols
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business, or related field (Master's preferred)
- Minimum 5 years of municipal government or public sector experience
- Advanced knowledge of Tennessee open records laws and election procedures
- Proficiency in municipal record management systems (e.g., Laserfiche, M-Files)
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Valid Tennessee driver's license and clean driving record
- Certification as Municipal Clerk (MMC) or equivalent preferred
