Responsibilities
- Oversee official city records, including ordinances, resolutions, and minutes with meticulous accuracy
- Administer municipal elections, voter registration, and campaign finance compliance
- Manage public records requests while balancing transparency with legal confidentiality requirements
- Coordinate city council meetings, agendas, and public hearing protocols
- Lead records management systems and digital archiving initiatives
- Serve as the primary liaison for public inquiries regarding city governance
- Ensure compliance with California Government Code and municipal charters
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Political Science, or related field
- 5+ years of municipal government experience with records management focus
- Certified Municipal Clerk (CMC) designation strongly preferred
- Expertise in California Public Records Act (CPRA) and Brown Act requirements
- Advanced proficiency in document management systems (e.g., Laserfiche, OnBase)
- Exceptional written communication and public presentation skills
- Proven ability to manage complex projects with multiple stakeholders
