Responsibilities
- Manage Official Records: Maintain and archive all official city documents, resolutions, ordinances, and contracts with the highest level of accuracy.
- Meeting Administration: Prepare agendas, take and distribute minutes for City Council and Commission meetings, and ensure compliance with Robert's Rules of Order.
- Public Records Requests: Handle Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests and public information inquiries efficiently and professionally.
- Correspondence Management: Draft, proofread, and distribute official correspondence, proclamations, and notices to the public and city departments.
- Vendor Coordination: Oversee contracts, bids, and procurements related to the Clerk's office operations.
- Compliance & Training: Stay current on state and local government regulations and provide guidance to staff on compliance matters.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Business Administration, Paralegal Studies, or Public Administration is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in municipal government, corporate administration, or a related field.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and experience with document management software.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional proofreading and organizational skills with a focus on data integrity.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of interacting with diverse community members and officials.
- License: Valid Nevada Driver’s License required.
