Responsibilities
- Oversee the full lifecycle of civil engineering projects, including planning, design, permitting, construction administration, and final inspection.
- Manage project budgets, timelines, and resources to ensure successful delivery within scope and cost constraints.
- Conduct regular site inspections and coordinate with contractors to ensure strict compliance with city codes, specifications, and safety regulations.
- Prepare and review technical drawings, reports, and specifications using industry-standard software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and GIS.
- Facilitate communication between internal stakeholders, external consultants, and the public to resolve technical issues and manage expectations.
- Ensure all engineering solutions align with the City’s sustainability goals and long-term capital improvement plans.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (or related field) required.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in the State of Texas is highly preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in municipal or public works engineering.
- Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex engineering data and blueprints.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical reporting and public engagement.
