Responsibilities
- Monitor inmate activities and enforce facility rules to ensure security and compliance
- Conduct regular perimeter checks and surveillance rounds using modern surveillance systems
- Respond to emergencies, incidents, and medical situations with de-escalation techniques
- Prepare detailed incident reports and maintain accurate documentation
- Coordinate with law enforcement agencies during critical operations
- Conduct searches of inmates, cells, and common areas per protocol
- Mentor junior officers and contribute to team training initiatives
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (college degree preferred)
- Valid California Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) certification
- Minimum 1 year correctional or law enforcement experience
- Ability to pass comprehensive background check and psychological evaluation
- Strong conflict resolution and crisis intervention skills
- Proficiency in digital reporting systems and surveillance technology
- Valid driver's license with clean driving record
- Ability to work rotating nights, weekends, and holidays
