Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain complex IT infrastructure solutions, including servers, networks, and cloud environments.
- Lead incident response and troubleshooting efforts for critical government systems to ensure 99.9% uptime.
- Oversee and audit cybersecurity protocols to protect sensitive citizen data and county assets.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to modernize legacy systems and improve operational efficiency.
- Provide advanced technical guidance and mentorship to junior IT staff and support analysts.
- Manage vendor relationships and conduct technical assessments for new hardware and software acquisitions.
- Conduct regular system performance tuning and capacity planning to meet growing demands.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 5+ years of progressive experience in IT infrastructure, systems administration, or a similar government or enterprise environment.
- Professional certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CCNA, or AWS Solutions Architect are highly preferred.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Server environments, Active Directory, and virtualization technologies (VMware/Hyper-V).
- Deep knowledge of cybersecurity best practices, network protocols, and disaster recovery planning.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
