Responsibilities
- Receive, open, and distribute incoming mail and legal documents to appropriate court departments.
- Process cash, check, and electronic payments for fines, fees, and court costs with high accuracy.
- Maintain and organize court records, ensuring they are filed according to strict legal standards.
- Assist the public and attorneys with inquiries regarding case status, filing procedures, and court schedules.
- Operate office equipment, including scanners, printers, and computer terminals, utilizing provided hardware.
- Prepare and issue legal notices, summonses, and subpoenas.
- Uphold strict confidentiality and professional demeanor in all interactions.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Legal Studies, Business Administration, or related field is preferred.
- Previous experience in an office environment, customer service, or legal administration is a plus.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and basic computer literacy.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds when assisting with records.
- Must pass a background check and drug screening.
