Responsibilities
- Process and manage a high volume of legal documents, including civil, criminal, and traffic filings, ensuring accuracy and compliance with court procedures.
- Greet and assist the public, attorneys, and court officials in a professional manner, answering inquiries and directing visitors to the appropriate departments.
- Perform data entry and maintain accurate records of court cases, filings, and financial transactions using the county's case management system.
- Prepare and issue legal notices, summonses, and judgments while ensuring strict adherence to state and local regulations.
- Operate office equipment, including scanners, printers, and cash registers, and handle petty cash transactions accurately.
- Assist in the organization and archiving of physical and electronic court records for future reference.
- Collaborate with court personnel and judges' staff to ensure smooth daily operations and efficient workflow.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Legal Administration or Paralegal studies is preferred.
- Experience: Previous experience in a legal office, courthouse, or government setting is highly preferred.
- Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and familiarity with case management software is required.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse populations.
- Integrity: Demonstrated high ethical standards and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
