Responsibilities
- Manage Court Records: Accurately maintain and file legal documents, court orders, and case files in accordance with state and federal regulations.
- Case Management: Assist in the intake and processing of civil, criminal, and family law cases; update case status for judges and attorneys.
- Public Assistance: Provide exceptional customer service to attorneys, litigants, and the general public by answering inquiries regarding court procedures and dockets.
- Financial Processing: Process fines, fees, and payments accurately using court management software and handle cashier duties.
- Confidentiality: Maintain strict adherence to confidentiality protocols to protect sensitive legal information and judicial proceedings.
- System Maintenance: Operate computer terminals, scanners, and filing systems to ensure the digital and physical integrity of court records.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Paralegal Studies, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a legal office, court administration, or a related administrative role.
- Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and experience with court case management software (e.g., Odyssey, CCD) is highly desirable.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with diverse populations.
- Attention to Detail: Demonstrated ability to perform high-volume data entry with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Integrity: Strong ethical standards and the ability to maintain strict confidentiality in all matters.
