Responsibilities
- Monitor Network Traffic: Analyze system logs and network traffic patterns to detect and respond to potential cyber threats in real-time.
- Incident Response: Lead the investigation and containment of security breaches, malware infections, and unauthorized access attempts.
- Security Assessments: Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to ensure system integrity.
- Firewall Management: Configure, maintain, and monitor enterprise firewalls and intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS).
- Compliance Reporting: Generate and maintain reports on security incidents, compliance audits, and risk assessments for federal stakeholders.
- Access Control: Manage user accounts and access rights to ensure the principle of least privilege is maintained.
- Threat Intelligence: Stay updated on the latest cyber threats and adjust security protocols accordingly.
Qualifications
- Certification: Active CISSP, Security+, or GSEC certification is highly preferred.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in cybersecurity or network administration.
- Shift Requirements: Must be available and willing to work the Night Shift (e.g., 10:00 PM - 6:00 AM or 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM).
- Clearance: Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret or Top Secret clearance (US Citizenship required).
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with SIEM tools (Splunk), Python scripting, and Windows/Linux server administration.
