As a Senior Federal Systems Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the architecture and deployment of secure, scalable solutions for government clients.
Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end design, integration, and testing of complex federal IT systems and software architectures.
- Ensure all engineering solutions comply with federal standards, security protocols (e.g., FedRAMP), and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, system administrators, and program managers, to define technical requirements.
- Provide technical mentorship and guidance to junior engineers, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Conduct system performance analysis, troubleshooting, and optimization to ensure 99.99% uptime.
- Prepare and present detailed technical briefings and status reports to senior leadership and government stakeholders.
- Participate in the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), from requirements gathering to deployment and maintenance.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in systems engineering, software development, or IT infrastructure within a federal government or defense contracting environment.
- Certifications: Active Secret or Top Secret clearance is required. PMP, TOGAF, or relevant technical certifications (AWS, Azure, CISSP) are highly preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in languages such as Python, Java, or C#; experience with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure) and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes).
- Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Problem Solving: Strong analytical skills with a proven track record of resolving critical technical issues efficiently.
- Location: Must be willing to work on-site at our Houston, TX facility.
