Responsibilities
- Monitor, detect, and respond to cybersecurity threats across federal networks
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on critical systems
- Develop and implement security policies and incident response protocols
- Collaborate with IT teams to ensure compliance with NIST and FISMA standards
- Lead incident investigations and forensic analysis of security breaches
- Provide cybersecurity awareness training to federal personnel
- Stay current with emerging threats and security technologies
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 5+ years of cybersecurity experience in federal/government sector
- Active Secret security clearance (Top Secret required for promotion)
- CISSP, CEH, or Security+ certification mandatory
- Expertise in SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, ArcSight) and network security
- Experience with cloud security (AWS/Azure/GCP) and zero-trust architecture
- Strong analytical skills and ability to communicate complex technical concepts
