Your Role
As an Entry Level Federal Pension Specialist, you will be the face of our commitment to public service. You will assist with inquiries, process documentation, and ensure compliance with federal regulations, all while working in a supportive, professional environment.
Responsibilities
- Client Support: Assist federal employees with inquiries regarding pension eligibility, vesting, and benefit calculations using clear, jargon-free language.
- Data Management: Maintain accurate and confidential records of employee pension data, processing applications and updates with high precision.
- Compliance: Ensure all pension processing aligns with current federal laws, OPM guidelines, and agency protocols.
- Documentation: Prepare and review retirement packets, ensuring all required signatures and financial documents are present.
- Research: Conduct research on varying pension plans and retirement scenarios to provide the best possible advice to clients.
- Communication: Serve as a primary point of contact for email and phone inquiries, maintaining a professional and empathetic demeanor.
- System Updates: Update internal databases and assist in the implementation of new federal pension software tools.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Finance, Human Resources, or a related field preferred.
- Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel and Word essential). Experience with CRM software is a plus.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial concepts to diverse audiences.
- Work Style: Self-motivated, organized, and able to work independently in a remote setting.
- Attention to Detail: Strong analytical skills with a focus on accuracy and data integrity.
- Citizenship: Must be a U.S. Citizen eligible for federal security clearance.
