The Texas Public Employee Retirement System (TPERS) is currently seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Senior Pension Plan Administrator to join our team in Dallas, Texas. Responsibilities
- Manage Actuarial Calculations: Oversee the daily calculation of pension benefits, ensuring accuracy in vested status, retirement eligibility, and monthly annuity disbursements.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all pension plan operations strictly adhere to state statutes, ERISA regulations, and internal governance policies.
- Member Services: Serve as the primary point of contact for member inquiries regarding retirement projections, survivor benefits, and plan amendments.
- Reporting & Analysis: Prepare comprehensive financial reports and actuarial summaries for the Board of Trustees and external auditors.
- System Optimization: Collaborate with IT to maintain and upgrade pension administration software, improving data integrity and workflow efficiency.
- Policy Development: Assist in the drafting and revision of pension plan documents and communication materials for employees.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Actuarial Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in pension administration, benefits management, or actuarial analysis.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Advanced Excel) and experience with HRIS or pension software (e.g., Ceridian, SAP).
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of government retirement systems, ERISA, and Texas public sector pension laws.
- Soft Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to explain complex financial concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy required in data entry and financial reporting.
