Responsibilities
- Tier-1 IT Support: Provide technical assistance to federal employees regarding hardware, software, and network connectivity issues.
- System Maintenance: Assist in the installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of desktop computers, printers, and peripherals.
- Network Administration: Monitor local area networks (LAN) and wide area networks (WAN) for performance issues and security breaches.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate logs of system changes, user access requests, and technical support tickets.
- Security Compliance: Support federal IT security protocols, including user authentication and access control verification.
- Help Desk Operations: Answer inbound support calls and emails in a professional, timely manner.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience: No prior professional experience required; recent graduates are highly encouraged to apply.
- Technical Skills: Basic understanding of Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and general computer hardware.
- Certifications: CompTIA A+ or Network+ certification is a plus but not mandatory.
- Citizenship: Must be a U.S. Citizen and eligible for a Public Trust background investigation.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical users.
