Responsibilities
- Lead the collection, cleaning, and analysis of large-scale datasets to identify trends and insights that support strategic government initiatives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional government teams to translate complex data into actionable reports and dashboards for stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local privacy regulations (e.g., HIPAA, FERPA, GDPR) when handling sensitive citizen data.
- Develop and maintain scalable data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI) to enhance public accessibility to city information.
- Conduct statistical modeling to forecast population growth, budget requirements, and service demands.
- Mentor junior analysts and establish best practices for data governance within the department.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Public Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in data analysis within a government, non-profit, or large-scale corporate environment.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or SQL for data manipulation and analysis.
- Strong understanding of government reporting structures and the policy-making process.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present complex data to diverse audiences.
- Experience with data visualization software and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure).
