Responsibilities
- Provide tier 1 and tier 2 technical support to federal employees, troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues remotely.
- Manage and track IT service requests and incidents through the federal ticketing system (e.g., ServiceNow) with high accuracy.
- Assist in the configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of local area networks (LAN) and wireless connectivity.
- Ensure strict compliance with federal information security regulations, data privacy standards, and agency protocols.
- Conduct routine system backups, patch management, and perform preventative maintenance to ensure system integrity.
- Collaborate with senior IT staff to implement software updates and resolve complex technical challenges.
- Document technical procedures and maintain an up-to-date inventory of hardware and software assets.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent; an Associate’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred.
- Basic understanding of computer hardware components, operating systems (Windows/Linux), and networking concepts.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to communicate technical solutions clearly to non-technical users.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance (or equivalent security clearance) as required by the federal agency.
- Self-motivated individual capable of working independently and meeting deadlines in a remote environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and remote access tools (e.g., TeamViewer, AnyDesk).
