Responsibilities
- Technical Assistance: Provide Tier 1 technical support to government employees via phone, email, and in-person troubleshooting.
- Hardware & Software: Assist in the setup, installation, and configuration of desktop computers, laptops, printers, and peripherals.
- Asset Management: Monitor and maintain IT inventory records and assist in the physical tracking of government assets.
- System Monitoring: Perform routine checks on operating systems and software applications to ensure optimal performance.
- User Training: Educate staff on basic software functionality and security protocols.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field is a plus.
- Experience: No prior professional experience required; internship or volunteer experience in IT is highly desirable.
- Skills: Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and a general understanding of computer hardware and networking.
- Soft Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a focus on customer service.
- Availability: Ability to work occasional evenings or weekends for system maintenance.
