Responsibilities
- Network Design & Architecture: Design, implement, and troubleshoot complex network infrastructure solutions to meet organizational requirements.
- Security Management: Oversee network security protocols, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems to protect sensitive government data.
- Performance Optimization: Monitor network performance metrics, analyze traffic patterns, and optimize bandwidth and latency.
- Project Leadership: Lead or participate in large-scale IT projects, including upgrades, migrations, and hardware installations.
- Vendor Management: Manage relationships with third-party vendors and service providers to ensure SLA compliance.
- Compliance: Ensure all network operations adhere to state and federal regulations (e.g., HIPAA, FISMA).
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of progressively responsible experience in network engineering and administration.
- Certifications: Valid CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Professional) or equivalent certification is required.
- Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, routing, switching, VLANs, VPNs, and network security best practices.
- Equipment: Proficiency with Cisco, Juniper, or similar enterprise networking hardware.
- Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving abilities, strong communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
