Responsibilities
- Lead IT Initiatives: Oversee the planning, execution, and monitoring of complex technology projects to improve state infrastructure and service delivery.
- Vendor Management: Manage relationships with external vendors and contractors to ensure SLAs are met and project milestones are achieved.
- System Administration: Provide advanced technical support and administration for enterprise servers, databases, and network infrastructure.
- Security Compliance: Implement and monitor security protocols to protect sensitive state data and ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Technical Consultation: Serve as a subject matter expert, providing guidance to agency leadership and staff on technology best practices and solutions.
- Problem Resolution: Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues that impact business operations with minimal downtime.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in information technology, system administration, or project management.
- Certifications: Relevant certifications such as CISSP, PMP, or CompTIA Security+ are highly desirable.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in cloud platforms (AWS/Azure), virtualization technologies, and scripting languages (Python/Bash).
- Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to translate technical jargon for non-technical stakeholders.
- Residency: Indiana residency preferred for state government positions.
