Responsibilities
- Develop and implement environmental compliance programs for city operations
- Conduct field inspections and environmental assessments of public facilities
- Prepare regulatory reports for EPA and state environmental agencies
- Manage stormwater pollution prevention plans for municipal sites
- Coordinate hazardous waste disposal and recycling initiatives
- Lead community outreach programs on environmental best practices
- Analyze environmental data and recommend policy improvements
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field
- 3+ years of environmental compliance experience
- Valid Virginia driver's license
- EPA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification preferred
- Experience with environmental reporting software (e.g., ESdat, Envirosuite)
- Strong knowledge of federal/state environmental regulations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
