Responsibilities
- Develop and implement county-wide environmental sustainability programs
- Analyze environmental data to recommend policy improvements
- Coordinate with local government agencies on climate action initiatives
- Manage grant funding for environmental projects ($500K+ annually)
- Lead public outreach campaigns for waste reduction and recycling
- Conduct site assessments for environmental compliance
- Mentor junior staff and interns on environmental best practices
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or related field
- 5+ years of experience in environmental policy or sustainability
- Certified Environmental Professional (CEP) preferred
- Proficient in environmental data analysis tools (GIS, R, Python)
- Demonstrated experience with grant writing and management
- Strong knowledge of Minnesota environmental regulations
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
