- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations for public records
- Coordinate municipal board appointments and maintain official city documents
- Supervise records staff and implement efficient document retention systems
- Lead public engagement initiatives and serve as the primary information resource
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business, or related field
- Minimum 5 years of municipal government experience with records management
- Proficiency in municipal records management software (e.g., Laserfiche, DocuWare)
- Deep knowledge of Illinois Sunshine Act and open records laws
- Certified Municipal Clerk (CMC) designation preferred
- Exceptional communication skills with diverse stakeholders
- Proven ability to manage confidential information with discretion
- Experience leading public meetings and civic engagement processes
