Responsibilities
- Provide expert guidance and counseling to federal employees regarding retirement plans, health insurance, Thrift Savings Plans (TSP), and life insurance.
- Process and review personnel actions, ensuring strict adherence to Office of Personnel Management (OPM) regulations and agency policies.
- Conduct regular audits of employee records to maintain accuracy and ensure full compliance with federal standards.
- Resolve complex inquiries from staff via phone, email, and in-person meetings, translating complex policy into clear, actionable advice.
- Collaborate with the payroll and compensation teams to ensure accurate and timely disbursement of pay and benefits.
- Prepare detailed reports and documentation for management regarding benefits utilization and policy updates.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in federal benefits administration, HR, or payroll processing is required.
- Deep knowledge of the Federal Employees Retirement System (FERS) and Civil Service Retirement System (CSRS) is essential.
- Proficiency in federal HR systems (e.g., EODS, iPERMS) and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality and handle sensitive employee data with discretion.
