Responsibilities
- Process and adjudicate veterans' benefit claims with precision and compliance to federal regulations
- Review medical documentation and service records to determine eligibility criteria
- Communicate with veterans, families, and medical providers to gather additional information
- Maintain accurate electronic records using VA-specific systems (VBMS, VBA)
- Collaborate with senior examiners to resolve complex claim discrepancies
- Adhere to strict quality assurance standards and turnaround time metrics
- Participate in continuous training on policy updates and procedural changes
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship (mandatory for federal employment)
- Minimum 2 years experience in administrative claims processing or related field
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and database management systems
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and empathy
- Experience working with veterans' affairs or federal programs preferred
- Valid North Carolina driver's license (if local travel required)
