Responsibilities
- Monitor, detect, and respond to cybersecurity threats across federal networks using advanced SIEM tools
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on critical infrastructure systems
- Develop and implement security protocols aligned with NIST and FISMA standards
- Collaborate with federal agencies to coordinate incident response and threat intelligence sharing
- Generate comprehensive security reports and brief senior leadership on emerging risks
- Maintain compliance with federal cybersecurity policies and regulatory requirements
- Mentor junior analysts and contribute to continuous improvement of security frameworks
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum 3 years of professional cybersecurity experience in federal or regulated environments
- Active CISSP, Security+, or equivalent cybersecurity certification
- Proficiency in SIEM platforms (e.g., Splunk, QRadar) and network security tools
- Strong understanding of NIST SP 800-53 controls and FISMA compliance frameworks
- Excellent analytical skills with ability to investigate complex security incidents
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Federal government security clearance
- Experience with cloud security architectures (AWS/Azure/GCP) preferred
