Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze cybersecurity threats across federal networks using advanced SIEM tools
- Implement and maintain security protocols for cloud-based systems and on-premise infrastructure
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify system weaknesses
- Develop incident response plans and lead breach mitigation efforts
- Collaborate with cross-agency teams on security policy development
- Ensure compliance with NIST, FISMA, and other federal security standards
- Train staff on cybersecurity best practices and threat awareness
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum 3 years of professional cybersecurity experience
- Active Security+ CE or CISSP certification
- Proficiency in threat detection tools (Splunk, CrowdStrike, etc.)
- Familiarity with federal security frameworks (NIST SP 800-53, FISMA)
- Strong knowledge of network security protocols (TCP/IP, VPN, firewalls)
- Ability to obtain and maintain a federal security clearance
