Responsibilities
- Analyze complex federal datasets to identify trends in veteran healthcare outcomes and service utilization
- Design and maintain automated reporting systems for VA compliance with federal regulations
- Collaborate with cross-agency teams to develop data-driven policy recommendations
- Implement statistical models to predict veteran service needs and resource allocation
- Ensure all data practices adhere to HIPAA, FISMA, and federal data governance standards
- Present findings to senior leadership through executive dashboards and briefings
- Lead data quality initiatives for VA's national veteran databases
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or related field
- 3+ years of professional data analysis experience with federal datasets
- Expert proficiency in SQL, Python (Pandas/NumPy), and R for statistical analysis
- Advanced knowledge of federal compliance frameworks (HIPAA, FISMA, 21st Century Cures Act)
- Proven experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI) and ETL processes
- Clearable federal security clearance or ability to obtain one
- Strong written communication skills for policy documentation and stakeholder reporting
