Responsibilities
- Manage and optimize electronic health record (EHR) systems and healthcare IT infrastructure
- Provide Tier 3 technical support for clinical applications and network security systems
- Implement and maintain cybersecurity protocols compliant with federal standards (NIST, HIPAA)
- Coordinate system upgrades and integration projects with VA IT leadership
- Develop technical documentation and training materials for clinical staff
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve complex IT issues
- Monitor system performance and implement preventive maintenance procedures
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum 3 years experience in healthcare IT systems administration
- Federal IT security certification (e.g., Security+, CISSP) or ability to obtain within 6 months
- Expertise in Windows Server administration and virtualization technologies
- Strong knowledge of HIPAA compliance and healthcare data privacy regulations
- Ability to obtain and maintain VA background clearance
- Excellent problem-solving skills and customer service orientation
- Experience with federal procurement processes preferred
