Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain federal information systems and networks to ensure 99.9% uptime for VA operations.
- Implement and monitor security protocols in compliance with FISMA and OMB directives to protect sensitive veteran data.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for hardware, software, and telecommunications infrastructure.
- Conduct regular system audits and risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to modernize legacy systems and integrate new technologies.
- Maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, procedures, and incident reports.
Qualifications
- Active Secret Security Clearance (or willingness to obtain) required for federal employment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field from an accredited institution.
- At least 3 years of professional experience in IT systems administration, networking, or cybersecurity.
- Experience with federal IT frameworks, such as FedRAMP, NIST, or DISA STIGs.
- Strong proficiency in Windows Server, Linux, SQL, and virtualization technologies.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with stakeholders.
