Role Overview
As a Federal IT Specialist, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of critical government IT systems. You will ensure the security and integrity of sensitive data while adhering to strict federal compliance standards.
Responsibilities
- Design, configure, and troubleshoot complex IT infrastructure solutions for federal clients.
- Ensure compliance with FISMA, NIST, and other federal security protocols.
- Manage and maintain network security, including firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support digital transformation initiatives.
- Conduct regular system audits and risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities.
- Provide technical support and training to junior staff and end-users.
- Document all system changes and configurations in accordance with federal standards.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Certifications: Active Secret or Top Secret Security Clearance is required. CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or AWS Solutions Architect preferred.
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in federal IT support or systems engineering.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Windows Server, Linux, SQL, and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure).
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for stakeholder reporting.
- Problem Solving: Strong analytical skills with a focus on risk mitigation and operational continuity.
