Responsibilities
- Monitor network traffic and systems 24/7 to identify and resolve potential security breaches or performance issues.
- Perform routine system patches, updates, and maintenance during night hours to minimize disruption to federal operations.
- Troubleshoot hardware and software malfunctions for federal workstations and servers with a focus on rapid resolution.
- Document all incidents, resolutions, and system changes in compliance with federal IT governance protocols.
- Collaborate with day-shift teams to hand over critical issues and ensure seamless operational continuity.
- Enforce security protocols and access controls to protect sensitive federal data.
Qualifications
- Active Top Secret Security Clearance (or eligibility to obtain).
- Associate’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field; or equivalent 5+ years of federal IT experience.
- Strong proficiency in network administration, Windows Server, and Linux environments.
- Experience with VPNs, firewalls, and federal network security standards (NIST, DIACAP).
- Must be available to work rotating night shifts (6 PM - 6 AM).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly.
