Responsibilities
- Conduct routine patrols of federal buildings and grounds to ensure perimeter security and safety compliance.
- Monitor and operate CCTV surveillance systems and access control terminals to detect and report irregularities.
- Verify the identity of personnel and visitors, issuing credentials and maintaining accurate logs of all entries and exits.
- Respond immediately to alarms, emergencies, and security breaches, coordinating with local law enforcement and emergency services as needed.
- Enforce all federal security protocols, regulations, and facility policies to mitigate risk and maintain order.
- Assist in the training of new security staff and conduct safety briefings for employees.
Qualifications
- Citizenship Requirement: Must be a U.S. Citizen and possess (or be eligible to obtain) a suitable Federal background clearance.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in security operations, law enforcement, or military security.
- Availability: Must be available to work rotating night shifts (typically 6:00 PM - 6:00 AM).
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to write detailed incident reports.
- Physical Demands: Ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods; must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Technology: Proficiency with computer systems, security databases, and monitoring equipment.
