Responsibilities
- Screening Operations: Operate X-ray equipment and advanced imaging technology to screen carry-on baggage and passengers for prohibited items.
- Security Detection: Identify and report potential security threats or suspicious items in accordance with strict federal regulations.
- Customer Service: Provide exceptional service to travelers, answering questions, resolving issues, and maintaining a professional demeanor under pressure.
- Compliance: Adhere to all TSA security directives, standard operating procedures, and agency policies at all times.
- Physical Screening: Perform pat-downs and secondary screening when necessary to ensure complete security coverage.
- Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine checks on screening equipment to ensure it is functioning correctly.
- Security Awareness: Stay updated on the latest security threats and protocols to maintain a high level of situational awareness.
Qualifications
- Citizenship: Must be a U.S. Citizen or national.
- Education: High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) certificate required.
- Background Check: Must be able to pass a thorough background investigation, including fingerprinting and credit check.
- Drug Testing: Candidates must pass a pre-employment drug screen and are subject to random drug testing.
- Availability: Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends, holidays, and early morning/late night hours.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and perform repetitive motions.
- Communication: Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
