Responsibilities
- Analyze and calculate federal pension benefits based on complex regulations and employee service records.
- Ensure strict compliance with OPM (Office of Personnel Management) guidelines and federal pension laws.
- Prepare and audit pension documentation, including QDROs and retirement applications.
- Communicate complex financial information to federal employees and stakeholders in a clear, professional manner.
- Collaborate with HR and Finance departments to streamline pension processing workflows.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies in pension calculations and service credit.
- Stay updated on changes in federal legislation affecting retirement plans.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in federal pension administration, actuarial science, or retirement planning.
- Deep knowledge of FERS (Federal Employees Retirement System) and CSRS (Civil Service Retirement System).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and pension administration software.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex legal and financial data.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for client interaction.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
