Responsibilities
- Manage and process pension calculations, ensuring accuracy and timeliness for all retirees.
- Review and interpret government regulations, including ERISA and state-specific pension laws.
- Conduct audits of pension records to identify discrepancies and ensure data integrity.
- Provide expert guidance and support to members regarding retirement benefits, eligibility, and distribution options.
- Collaborate with the actuarial team to update valuation models and projections.
- Maintain and update internal databases and reporting systems.
- Prepare detailed reports for the Board of Trustees and regulatory agencies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- 5+ years of experience in pension administration, benefits management, or actuarial science.
- Strong working knowledge of ERISA and relevant state government pension codes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly advanced Excel functions.
- Experience with government payroll or HRIS systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, PeopleSoft).
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong analytical problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
