We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Federal Pension Administrator to join our Raleigh, NC team. In this pivotal role, you will manage complex pension plans, ensure compliance with federal regulations, and provide expert guidance to federal employees regarding their retirement benefits.
As a key member of our HR division, you will play a critical role in the administration of the Federal Employees Retirement System (FERS) and Civil Service Retirement System (CSRS). Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily administration and processing of federal pension applications and retirement claims.
- Analyze employee data to calculate accurate pension benefits and service credits in compliance with OPM guidelines.
- Conduct retirement counseling sessions for federal employees, explaining complex benefit structures and eligibility requirements.
- Maintain precise records of pension contributions, earnings, and vested accounts.
- Ensure full compliance with federal laws, regulations, and agency policies regarding retirement plans.
- Collaborate with the finance and legal departments to resolve complex pension discrepancies.
- Prepare and submit required reports to federal oversight bodies and internal stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Human Resources, Accounting, or a related field required.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in federal benefits administration, pension management, or human resources.
- Strong knowledge of FERS, CSRS, and federal retirement regulations (OPM standards).
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and regulations.
- Proficiency in HRIS software (e.g., PeopleSoft, Workday) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to communicate complex information clearly to diverse audiences.
- Must be a US Citizen and hold the necessary security clearance for federal work.
