Responsibilities
- Oversee the administration of federal pension plans, ensuring accurate calculations for FERS, CSRS, and other retirement systems.
- Review and process pension applications, retirement estimates, and benefit adjustments with strict attention to detail.
- Provide expert guidance and support to federal employees regarding retirement eligibility, vesting, and survivor benefits.
- Ensure full compliance with Office of Personnel Management (OPM) regulations and internal federal policies.
- Conduct regular audits of pension records and documentation to identify discrepancies and prevent errors.
- Collaborate with HR, Finance, and Legal teams to resolve complex retirement issues and improve operational efficiency.
- Prepare comprehensive reports on pension liabilities and plan status for senior leadership.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is required.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in federal benefits administration, pension management, or HR.
- Strong working knowledge of federal retirement systems (FERS/CSRS) and OPM regulations.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables) and HRIS software.
- Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and regulations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for client-facing interactions.
- Ability to pass a standard background check and obtain a government security clearance if required.
