Responsibilities
- Process and review federal pension applications and retirement claims with high accuracy.
- Manage and respond to employee inquiries regarding Thrift Savings Plans (TSP) and federal retirement benefits.
- Calculate pension estimates and ensure proper documentation for all disbursements.
- Coordinate with the Human Resources department to resolve complex payroll and retirement discrepancies.
- Ensure strict adherence to OPM (Office of Personnel Management) and IRS regulations regarding pension administration.
- Maintain accurate, confidential records for all federal retirees and active employees.
- Assist in the onboarding process for new federal hires regarding retirement planning resources.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in federal retirement administration, payroll processing, or pension management.
- Familiarity with FERS (Federal Employees Retirement System) and CSRS (Civil Service Retirement System) is highly preferred.
- Strong proficiency with MS Office Suite and federal HR software systems.
- Ability to work independently and effectively during weekend shifts.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a focus on customer service.
- High level of attention to detail and ability to handle sensitive financial information.
