Job Summary
The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of pension administration and federal labor laws. You will act as a key point of contact for employees regarding their retirement benefits, ensuring a smooth transition and accurate record-keeping.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily operations of federal pension plans, including disbursements and employee contributions.
- Review and process retirement applications and eligibility determinations with high accuracy.
- Ensure strict adherence to federal regulations (FERS, CSRS) and internal HR policies.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee pension records in the HRIS system.
- Provide exceptional customer service and guidance to employees regarding pension questions and benefits.
- Conduct audits and reconciliation of pension accounts to identify and resolve discrepancies.
- Prepare and submit required reports to federal oversight agencies and internal management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or Human Resources.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in pension administration or federal human resources.
- Certification in PHR/SPHR or completion of federal retirement training is highly preferred.
- Deep knowledge of ERISA laws and federal retirement systems (FERS/CSRS).
- Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and data integrity.
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite and HR software (e.g., Workday, SAP).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with staff and management.
