Responsibilities
- Manage the full lifecycle of pension plan administration, including enrollment, contribution processing, and benefit disbursements.
- Analyze complex actuarial data and financial reports to ensure accurate pension calculations and projections.
- Ensure strict compliance with ERISA regulations, IRS tax codes, and Department of Labor guidelines.
- Provide expert consultation and guidance to federal employees regarding retirement eligibility, vesting, and survivor benefits.
- Conduct internal audits and risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential plan administration errors.
- Collaborate with HR leadership and external actuaries to resolve complex benefit discrepancies and claims.
- Prepare comprehensive quarterly and annual reports for federal oversight agencies.
Qualifications
- Masterβs degree in Finance, Public Administration, or Human Resources is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in pension administration, retirement planning, or federal benefits management.
- Deep understanding of ERISA (Employee Retirement Income Security Act) and IRS Section 401(a) requirements.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex legal and financial documentation.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills for stakeholder presentations and employee counseling.
- Proficiency in ERISA administration software and advanced MS Office Suite (Excel, Access).
- Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality and attention to detail.
