This role focuses on the administration and management of federal pension plans, ensuring accurate processing of retirements and benefits for military and civilian personnel. Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily administration of federal pension plans, including FERS and CSRS systems, during night shift operations.
- Process and audit pension claims, contributions, and withdrawals to ensure 100% accuracy and compliance with federal regulations.
- Conduct data entry and system maintenance for employee retirement records within the Virginia Beach facility.
- Provide exceptional customer service to federal employees and retirees via phone and secure messaging portals during off-peak hours.
- Investigate discrepancies in pension calculations and resolve them in accordance with established protocols.
- Assist in the training of junior staff on night shift procedures and software tools.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in federal benefits administration, payroll, or pension plan management.
- Strong knowledge of OPM (Office of Personnel Management) regulations and FERS/CSRS rules.
- Ability to work effectively in a night shift environment (6:00 PM – 6:00 AM).
- Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Workday) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent analytical skills and a high degree of attention to detail.
