Responsibilities
- Administer and manage federal pension plans, ensuring accurate calculation and disbursement of benefits.
- Conduct retirement counseling sessions for federal employees to explain eligibility, vesting, and payout options.
- Analyze complex financial data and documentation to resolve discrepancies in pension calculations.
- Ensure full compliance with Office of Personnel Management (OPM) regulations and federal guidelines.
- Collaborate with internal legal and HR teams to interpret and apply new federal pension legislation.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records for all plan participants and beneficiaries.
- Process and review retirement applications and appeals in a timely manner.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, or a related field required.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in pension administration, retirement planning, or federal benefits.
- Deep understanding of FERS (Federal Employees Retirement System) and CSRS (Civil Service Retirement System).
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel for data analysis.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for client-facing interactions.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with the highest level of confidentiality and integrity.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to pass a background investigation.
