Responsibilities
- Administer and manage federal pension plans, ensuring compliance with OPM and ERISA regulations.
- Process retirement applications and pension calculations accurately and efficiently.
- Provide expert guidance and counseling to federal employees regarding Thrift Savings Plans (TSP) and retirement options.
- Review and audit personnel files to ensure data integrity for pension eligibility.
- Collaborate with HR teams and payroll departments to resolve complex benefits inquiries.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of federal legislative changes affecting retirement benefits.
- Prepare and present reports on pension plan status and employee retirement trends.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
- Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in federal benefits administration, pension management, or HR.
- Strong working knowledge of the Federal Employees Retirement System (FERS) and Thrift Savings Plan (TSP).
- Familiarity with OPM (Office of Personnel Management) regulations and procedures.
- Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for client-facing interactions.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with the highest level of discretion.
