Responsibilities
- Process Pension Applications: Review and approve pension plan applications and benefit claims with high accuracy and speed.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all pension calculations adhere to federal laws, OPM guidelines, and agency-specific policies.
- Data Management: Maintain and update confidential employee pension records in secure federal databases.
- Customer Support: Provide clear, concise guidance to federal employees regarding their retirement options and plan details.
- System Audits: Conduct periodic audits of pension data to identify discrepancies and prevent errors.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Human Resources, or a related field preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in federal pension administration, FERS, or CSRS systems.
- Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of the Federal Employees Retirement System (FERS) and Social Security integration.
- Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and federal HRIS systems (e.g., PeopleSoft, SAP).
- Availability: Ability to work a minimum of 15-20 hours per week on-site in San Antonio.
